Merciful Providence

Saturday I was in Providence. A city that is brutally different depending on which side of the river you are on. On one side is the downtown that reminds me of Cleveland without LeBron, and on the other is a beautiful New England city on a hill.

We were able to check out the RISD museum. This would be my must see for Providence. A great collection  in a great building. The best school museum I have been to. We then creeped around Brown and spent some disappointing time by what appeared to be a massive mall in the center of the downtown.

Saw this shot online today. My first thought was - "Brandon Gheen has a Lotus Exige?"

Shepley Bulfinch sent over some prints to the BSA today. I was able to get a great sketch of 748 Memorial Drive. A beautiful Art Deco building right on the Charles River built in 1937 to house B&B Chemical and then Polaroid.

The Earth is Made of Glass

Had to get out of the house this weekend so we went out to Concord. Above is a shot of Walden Pond.

I don't really get it.

New M. Ward is coming out. As you know - I am a big fan, but the album this time is a bit weak. This single is great though -

Animal Collective

I was never a real fan of Animal Collective (too much screaming) until I heard Panda Bears solo album which was fantastic. The new AC album Merriweather Post Pavilion is along the same vein, much more chill. I would suggest picking it up. I will be listening to it all weekend.

I'm waiting on the weather

It is after the new year and I am waiting on the summer. January and February are a bust. Long and cold with nothing to hope for but the thaw.

\\White Out\\

This weekend was a huge snowstorm in Boston. It lasted all of Friday and Saturday. I didn't leave the house for most of the weekend, but I did get out for a great dinner at the Publick House in Washington Square. I had a Founders Imperial (a little GRap pride) and a Smuttynose.

First good Passion Pit remix I have heard came out this weekend as well -
Passion Pit - Sleepy Head (Wallpaper. Dio Remix)

In other news - Only a few days left before Christmas so Mitch gatiously took a picture of Beth and I in the spirit of the season. Is that a real dog?
